Eric A. Boden is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in white-collar criminal defense, regulatory enforcement, and complex commercial litigation. Before joining Duane Morris, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney with two U.S. Attorney’s Offices, first with the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and then with the District of New Jersey, where he was Attorney-in-Charge of the Trenton Branch Office. During his tenure as a federal prosecutor in New Jersey, Mr. Boden supervised 21 Department of Justice personnel, including 10 federal prosecutors, in investigating and prosecuting cases involving healthcare fraud, bank fraud, securities fraud, mortgage fraud, complex financial fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, cybercrime, political corruption, government program fraud, narcotics trafficking, and violent crimes. As a federal prosecutor, Mr. Boden’s work included supervising and trying nearly two dozen jury trials to verdict, as well as briefing and arguing multiple appeals before federal appellate courts.
Mr. Boden has overseen all aspects of litigation, including leading long-term grand jury investigations, managing case teams, discovery, motion practice, negotiations, charging decisions, trials, sentencing, appeals, and asset forfeiture. His experience extends across the United States and internationally, with cases involving Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has worked closely with federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Homeland Security, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, IRS-CI, Secret Service, DEA, ATF, and local authorities. He has also collaborated with SEC enforcement and trial lawyers in parallel prosecutions of companies and individuals charged with securities violations.
